  • Trim removal instructions request

    Hi all,

Does someone have access to the manual/diagrams showing removal of the interior boot trim?
I need to feed a cable from the front of the car to one of the number plate lights where I will install a rear view camera.
    2007 Golf FSI 5 door.

    Thanks in advance

You can do it without actually removing the trim, just loosen some of it — PM me with your email and I'll send you a text (no pix, unfortunately!) that includes all you'll need to know and more.

I had a good guide bookmarked, but it's now vanished from the 'net.

      Here you go

      LINK

I've got the document for the whole thing if you like.

Otherwise go spend 5 EUR at erwin.de and go nuts!

          Thanks for the help guys.
I pulled out the interior trim of the boot and removed the bottom part of the bumper. I had a good look at what I need to do in terms of running the cable and connecting up to the existing number plate lighting.

But I broke a clip on one of the license plate light holders and was running out of time without achieving much so decided to put stuff back together (so my wife can use her car)

I think I'll run the cable as far as I can and then take it to an auto electrician with the bumper off to solder up the connections.

I think sometimes it is nobler to admit defeat than to stick everything together with electrical tape..

              Yep.
It's one that replaces one of the license plate lights.
