Guys this kind of talk from the diesel clan is just embarassing. Petrol cars simply have a wider torque band for the 0-100 sprint, and less gear changes ALWAYS wins. In gear, up a hill, similar tune state, perhaps a different story.
Run it down the quarter and get an official time. diesel cars are practical, cheap and can be quickish.
but in the real world a petrol will win everytime.
