  • Sell my mk5 tdi???

im looking to sell my mk5 tdi,
it has 215xxxkms, eibach suspension, 18's, and revoed ecu.
    if anyones interested message me.

I am looking at straying from vw though,
i just think you dont get enough bang for your buck.
im only 23 therefore a 45k gti is way out of my budget, i dont like mk5 gti's, think they are still overpriced for what you get and they are dated now.
im looking at a mazda mps.
    or possibly a jetta turbo.
i want something that i dont need to mod for a while.

    any suggestions?

If you want something well priced and fast then dont bother with any european unless you're prepared to get something older like a B5 S4.

Cant really beat jap cars for performance and price. I would be looking at the following: wrx, 350z, mps, liberty gt, s15 200sx. If you dont mind bogan mobiles: xr6 turbo or 6ltr calais would suffice.

I agree with everything you said.

You just can't beat Jap and Aussie cars for bang for your buck peformance!

        you guys are right !
i want something 2005 + and all signs are pointing to the mps. my friend had one with a few mods and it was one of the most exciting cars i ever driven. not to mention subtle looking which is what i want, and very comfy with good features. I will miss a few little things about the dub and yes one day when funds are sufficient an Golf R or an s5 audi or something would be fantastic. but at my young age i want quick and fun, and the japs do it so well.

I'd stay away from FWD if you want real power.

How much do you expect to get for your TDI?

I'd have to agree, this will be my last FWD car....

                    I've seen Mk5 GTI's go as low as 20k for a 2005 car, which is a bargain!

BTW, your comment about 'won't need to mod for a while' - if you're already addicted, it's hard to break that addition!

It depends on you expect from a car, there is a reason why a chipped GTI still cant beat an mkv r32 to 100, you get to a point in a fwd where you're limited by traction. Having a 200kw fwd seems rather pointless to me, it would be completey useless in the wet. I would go the mps6 or gt liberty purely because they are awd.

                        thats true ! haha
                        i have a plan now,
rather than selling mine and getting a loan. ill hold onto mine until ive saved up the $$ for whatever my new ride will be. Get to enjoy the golf for a while. if it takes me say 12 months to save up, a mk7 might be nearby, which would mean i could pick up a mk5 r32 maybe even a mk6 gti for under 30k. its already pretty much at the slums of its value so i might as well get more time out of it and trade it for cheapp when it comes the time. thanks for the input fellas.

GT Liberty is more of a cruiser-type car - most definitely a family man's WRX; not a bad thing at all, mind you.

You would be best suited to an already powerful RWD or AWD Jap car if you are chasing 'teh powa'. As much as I dislike the image of owning a Skyline/STI/EVO, they are truely road rockets and lend themselves very well to modifications.

Mk5 R32 is something else you should also consider. However, don't expect it to be as thrilling as an EVO/STI. Interior is multiple times better though.

yeah i agree, im avoiding fwd the more i think about it. as much as everyone dislikes them, the current wrx wagon looks great imo. I think low with 9"s on the back and a bit of stretch would look awesome. and 195kw + tune, exhaust, cooler etc would be FUN and not really expensive at all. 08 rex wagons are floating around now with 80k for under 25. VERY CHEAP.

i love how this mk5 thread has turned into every good car BUT mk5's

except the r32, very good option & that sound, that sweet sweet sound.
