Shouldn't that show up as an error code though? Low fuel pressure?

Hmmm, not quite sure...it seems that possibly the pressure is fine, however the fuel isn't being pumped in. correct me if i'm wrong.

just to add that i have been searching around the web, and another possibility is the MAF, is faulty or needs cleaning.

Right, there's two of those? One low pressure pump by the tank, and one high pressure one, after the pressure sensor?

I've seen a number of people with MAF sensor problems, but it's mostly on the GTIs. Would you know where the MAF on the 2.0FSI is? I've never seen any documentation about where it's located, or how to check it visually.

Well the 2.0 FSI is essentially the same motor as the GTI, just without a turbo, so if people with GTI's are experiencing problems with there MAF sensor then mostly likely it will affect the 2.0 FSI. As for the location of the sensor, its located on the intake side, just before the air box

Also i experienced the same problem today, however it was less noticeable, as i was driving i noticed that the power isn't lost because of fuel, but actually something to do with the throttle. as i was driving at a steady 80km/h i took my foot off the throttle completely so the revs were dropping, then i noticed the revs jump, from 2500 to 2800, momentarily and drop back down. therefore it has to do something with the throttle, the throttle potion sensor maybe?

            Is yours a DSG?

Btw, mine doesn't really shudder. It mostly accelerates fine, only once a while do I see hesitation before it accelerates.

I wonder what is actually causing it.

just throwing it out there could it be a sensor to do with traction control or esp sending a false reading and then cutting power ? ? ?

Hmmm, it is possible, but then if its a sensor then it should throw a error code, but i will monitor it, and when it happens again i will turn traction control off, and see what would happen. Thanks

hey guys, i went down to Parra to Eurorevolution and when I was speaking to Seb there about a different problem, he mentioned that carbon buildup in the intake could lead to problems affecting power delivery or what you seem to describe here. I'd have a look into that as it seems quite likely after what I heard from him...

There's no other way to inspect for that than to actually remove the intake manifold? I assume thats not something to attempt for anyone without prior experience with these engines?
