I have read other posts said that it costs around $500 to get the DSG service at dealer, does anyone know whats included ? Is that just to replace new gearbox oil or more ? I would do it myself if possible or go to dealer to buy DSG gearbox oil and get Kmart auto to replace it, i have a 2007 Jetta 2.0TSI and only done 35000 kms, so its time to replace new gearbox oil but $500 for me is too expensive, could any member give me some advice please ? Thanks

I wouldn't trust Kmart Auto to do DSG gearbox mate, they are not as straight forward as normal gearbox.
If you want to do it yourself, you obviously need DSG oil and filter, a special fill kit that uses gravity-fed and you will need to use VAGCOM to calibrate it afterwards.GT Sport TDI Black Pearl

$500 is cheap including genuine oil and filter, they take around 6-7 litres to be safe on a change and require special process to drain
and refill to correct level, if your paying around $200 or so for labour in that cost i'd say thats fair for someone who know's
what there doin!!

The VAS6262A tool is around USD$210 to buy - Home Page > Search > VAS6262 > ES#1831924 DSG Oil Filling Adapter Kit - VAS6262A - you can find aftermarket versions for around USD$100-150.
You need VCDS/Vagcom to do the change properly as you have to have the temperature of the gearbox fluid between 35 and 45 degrees Celcius after you through each of the gear positions with the engine running before you can disconnect the VAS6262A and allow excess to flow out.website: www.my-gti.com

From what I can see it isn't that complex a process to change the oil on DSG. Change filter, remove drain plug (little oil comes out), remove overflow tube (all oil comes out). Refit new overflow tube, fill with oil using "Special" tool (made from bunnings for about 20 bucks), smash a few bottles down, plug in, jump on diagnostic equipment and start monitoring gearbox temp stats, start engine, run through all gears for at least 3 seconds, return to park, keep running until temp reaches within zone (35-50 from memory) then remove drain plug, excess oil will drain (usually about a litre apparently and then fit plug back in and happy days. This is what I have researched anyway, but it seems to make sense.
