My brother just bought a BMW 335ci twin turbo. First service is 20,000kms. I think these engines these days are built ready to go.

I must be really anal...I get my dealer to give the car a once over every 2500km's (just on 13000k's now). Have to admit, i think that the DSG needs it...certainly feels better after every reset.

probably feels better because it unlearns your driving and may feel more or less responsive depending on how you drive normally. i have to agree, 2500kms is VERY excessive and basically throwing your money away, they probably check that the tyres are round, the steering wheel turns and the radio turns on.
