I have been happy with delivery of my TDI. Order it in Dec and dealer said it'll be ready by about mid to end of Feb. And as it turned out i picked it up on
the 20th of Feb. Clocked 12000 km

Dealer rang today to let me know I have been allocated a new MY08 jetta
Problem is it will not arrive until December some time.
Deposit paid pre 30th June.
I'm really over this new car thing.

So guy's as mentioned above my dealer said I have been allocated a new
MY08 Jetta. Does that mean I have been allocated a new car just built
or just an allocation for a new car to be built. hence the long delivery.
Rang my dealer, not in until Tuesday.

Neil, your thread inspired me to drop in on my dealer on the way home from work last night to see what i could find out about delivery. I was shown a manifest that had my order on it and an expected delivery date in mid November. This is about a month later than the approximate date offered at time of purchase, but I understand that the dealers are in the hands of the manufacturers and shipping co. to a degree. The estimated date advised at purchase is close enough to satisfy me that they were not being dishonest in any way.
So, just have to be a bit more patient. The disappointing thing for me is that I was hoping to recieve the car in time to take it on a holiday on the Melbourne Cup weekend (2nd best time to get out of Melbourne) Ah well
