Good news..... but not happy.

Dealer rang today to let me know I have been allocated a new MY08 jetta
Problem is it will not arrive until December some time.
Deposit paid pre 30th June.
I'm really over this new car thing.

That's the silver lining to a very dark cloud IMO. Did you get many custom options?

Hi Neil,

I understand exactly what you are going through having been through something similar myself. It's an amazingly common theme on this forum that delivery promises are not kept and stories keep changing.

I can assure you the wait will be worthwhile, but as I told VW when I answered one of their many surveys, if the car wasn't so good I would not even contemplate another VW. Perhaps VW and their dealers are aware that the car is so good people will just keep coming back in spite of their poor performance?

I have even booked a holiday down in East Gippsland for the Melb Cup weekend, sure that I would be driving down there in the new beast!! Ahh well, time to be philosophical. I could be my chance to say goodbye to a much loved old car, instead of break in a new one.

Did you order the MY07 model.
I believe anyone ordering in June would receive My07 in October.
I was led to believe the MY08 would arrive in October,thats why
I changed to the MY08 .
My dealer said the first shipment of MY08 R32's has now landed.
So why so long for the Jetta??????

Yeah all MY08 models get the upgraded multi function screen and you
are able to program certain things yourself.

Was told by my dealer yesterday that Golf GTI are now out to a minimum 4+ month wait. Maybe they are trying to get demand up again and try and stop discounting. Better for Resale

Jettas are produced in Mexico, I understand R32s are produced in Germany.
