    hey guys, i went to test drive one today, but the car feels like its very sluggish. lets say if i put it from N to D with out accelerating it feels like its going to stall.. the owner says that is normal

    2004... that's got to be one of the very early Mk5's then - which engine was it? I'm guessing 2.0TDI by the DSG - I didn't realise they were even here in 2004 (I had a 2006)...

    Have you had a diesel before? Maybe look at a few other Mk5's with the same engine & box & see if they're the same - I've always thought the Mk5's had a particularly low idle - I thought my R32 was going to stall on me today!
    2006 MkV 2.0TDI -> 2005 MkV GTI -> 2008 MkV R32 -> 2013 Polo 77TSI + 2016 Mk7 Golf R Wagon

      Check which engine it is - the 1.9 (77kw, 250nm) and the 2.0 (103kw, 320nm) were both offered with dsg, the 2.0 has much imroved performance.
      MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.
