hey guys, i went to test drive one today, but the car feels like its very sluggish. lets say if i put it from N to D with out accelerating it feels like its going to stall.. the owner says that is normal

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

2004... that's got to be one of the very early Mk5's then - which engine was it? I'm guessing 2.0TDI by the DSG - I didn't realise they were even here in 2004 (I had a 2006)...
Have you had a diesel before? Maybe look at a few other Mk5's with the same engine & box & see if they're the same - I've always thought the Mk5's had a particularly low idle - I thought my R32 was going to stall on me today!2006 MkV 2.0TDI -> 2005 MkV GTI -> 2008 MkV R32 -> 2013 Polo 77TSI + 2016 Mk7 Golf R Wagon -
Check which engine it is - the 1.9 (77kw, 250nm) and the 2.0 (103kw, 320nm) were both offered with dsg, the 2.0 has much imroved performance.MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.Comment
