Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Mate, no offence, the motorbikes that you've been blowing away must have been vespas or L/P platers. My Fireblade if left in 1st gear will redline at 120kph. Claimed 0-100 in 2.9 seconds. I doubted any VW variants would beat that rolling start from 60-100. The Veyron might come close though. As I own both a motorcycle and an R32, there is no way the R32 would out accelerate the bike under normal road conditions.

You're a game man Nathan. I wasn't going to name any specific make aside from Vespas, you'll be expecting a gang with black leathers, open face helmet and wrap around sunglasses dudes knocking on your door.... lol

You can 'leave them for dead' if they're not interested or unaware that you're looking for some straight line action.

          It takes two to tango.

I have an FJR1300. The acceleration from a standing start or a roll on 'twist' is phenomenal.

I found lanch in the FWD Jetta 2.0T to be at its best at much less than 3k rpm, say about 1800 or so... to do this you use 1/2 throttle or so. It's enough for a little bit of wheelspin with good hookup, instead burning the tyres all the way through first gear.
