Don't let the meanies get to you Lukey, mine are all now shot at 45k, and after noticing the fronts WAY down on the oiler at 12k thanks to me never using the ESP, I decided to leave the button on, and take it a bit easier on the superman launches, and they've not been babied into the 40's!

A different size tyre (?) and not as much HP on the oil burner though, you would expect better mileage.

Having said that, if your enjoying your car and getting 40k out of rubber, more power to you I say!!

I still have Conti Sport Contact 2 on the rear and they've done 35000km and still heaps left on them.

Michelin Pilot sport sp3 was launched at the beginning of 2010 and I have them on my ride. Great in wet and dry conditions, much better when compared to the Dunlop that were factory fitted to the car was delivered to me.

The front Dunlop lasted just past 22000 kms...That is not good at all.

I have also used goodyear eagle on my other ride and it was quite good, lower down but still ok is Toyo TIR.

            Just my 2cts.

Is Michelin available in Australia? I did not see that brand mentioned in the thread.

Oui, and they're normally very good yet expensive.

I got a quote back in June for Michelin Pilot 3 at $260 a corner for 225/45/17 from JaxQuickfit, IMHO that's hardly expensive for that size of a good leading brand tyres.

I didn't buy them yet coz still on the original CSC 2 and still nowhere near the low thread marker at almost 50k's.

Just bought Kumho KU31 for $180 a corner....probably not the cheapest price on those either....they are an excellent tyre for the money.

Kumho make good tyres, and as you say they're excellent value for money

You sure you don't mean Bridgestone Adrenalins?? I had some of these in 215/45R17, and much preferred the Michelin PP2s that I had on prior.

Just checking here - Option 1 Garage - performance car japanese performance parts Brisbane Queensland Australia workshop drift racing nissan - and I am after some replacement rubber for my TDI.

After nearly 80,000 kms on the CSC2s I reckon they have done amazingly well. AND i still have about 2mm left.

Factory specs call for 205/55 R16 but the Kumho KU31s only seem to be in 225/50/16. I am a tyre nooblet, so can I get a confirmation these would be fine?

Just to complicate it little bit more this is website (on the right site there are links to different tests) with most recant tyres tests from Europe:
