A Truck Ate My Car

Need i say anything at all....

Its been in the repair place a good 10 weeks now and i am stuck driving a volvo 240... 21 years old.

All i can say is.. I love my car. Parts coming from Germany take a long time.

Luckily not really that bad.. replacing tailgate completley, panel work on outer rear right hand side panes.. basically replacing whole rear cosmetics.

Question : Do the all airbags 'come out' when hit from behind like that? Or does that only occur from a front/ side impact?

Kinda kills the argument truck drivers use for tailgating. They say they can see far enough ahead to allow for sudden braking, etc. BULL****

THe wait has been the hard part..

I was stopped at a red light... see it come up behind and im like.. gee thats coming fast... chuck it in first to get out its way... then... pull clutch out and BAMM... im on the otherside of the intersection... the little light in the cars like "INCIDENT" i thought that was obvious... but yeah... not happy about trucks... its a sportline not a r32.

NO AIRBAGS.. im guessing cause its from behind.. i think the car has 6...

BUT I AM SURE GLAD I DONT HAVE A KIA OR HYUNDAI RIGHT NOW.

and133 thats horrible what happened to you and your Golf.

My mother recntly came out 2nd best against a Garbage Truck in her Karmann Ghia just over a month agao we're still waiting for the Ghia to be ready.

Funny side to it is your Golf seems to have knocked the bumper off the truck (VWs never give up ).

And your right a Korean marque might not have been so kind too you.
Most VWs are engineered for rear accidents seen as its a must for US entry nowadays

your pooor car! i know someone who had an audi s3, who had a slight crash with a bus and the bus crashed into the back of it. the insurance company completly fixed it up. but it never felt the same. it would make slight noises all the time. so he sold his car, and bought a mark 2, that was better if you ask me!! nice oak green 16 valve. phooar!!

Had my MkV cleaned up from behind and had to wait 4 weeks to get it back on the road. Feeling your pain

But all will be good soon - you'll back on the road and this will be a distant memory...
