Are you hearing this??? The Gti has a high pressure injection system and is noisy as a rule. Now have checked a couple now and found the following, , just look out for it

Is this for earlier model engines? I seem to remember reading somewhere taht this was a fault in earlier engines and has been upgraded in later engines?

Wondering as my 60K service is coming up on my car and if it still could be a problme may get them to check it out.

Yeah mate, pretty much AXX engine, BWA is awesome. AXX is tops when fixed, if it happens. Im sure its random, i know of only 2 at this stage. I have replaced a cam , pump and chain on an Audi 2.0 Turbo for the same thing which was an o6. the 2 i know of is 06. Sure there was a bad batch of cams now. Much attention must be made when rebuiding though when sealing the trellis frame, you can easily seal up some oil holes so take care

I changed to the revision B camshaft. Better to be safe than sorry. The part# 06F.109.101B

You should really be changing your cam follower every 10,000km. At the end of the day, its a $50 part that can save you thousands later.

Yep thats the right cam and yeah you have done the right thingrevison B is the only cam you can get now regardless of vin number for the win, I agree with the bucket too, no dramas, make sure to change the high pressure fuel pump seal for the win
