Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Am pretty sure that the feature is only available to those with optioned parking sensors.

    99% sure.

Correct. Only optioned from the factory, not later fitted by the dealer. Vagcom says memory seats (and maybe that's the case in some parts of the world) but it should read, "factory fitted reversing sensors".

Well I guess he should have bought a Jetta then

I like the little extras they provide standard in this model. The Platinum Grey is great and I'm glad we went with it in the end. It even matches the highlights in the standard wheels, which was a nice surprise. What did you get Thomas?

I think you should try to set the mirror switch to LEFT position for the auto dip to work in reverse. If that doesn't fix it, then you should RE-SET the mirror dip - as someone might have adjusted the mirror after reversing (but not yet going forward) and that would have buggered up the auto functoin.

Hello guys im a newbie here and im pulling my hair out with this at the moment!!!
              i have a 2006 vw golf mk5 gt tdi 140bhp
i bought a brand new passenger mirror 1K2857507BA which has the memory function built into it,also got a new door controller 1K0959702L Z04 which is a gen2 max controller so really this should work all the functions.
anyway i have the function on my highline to which i can switch on and off so that is working, but my problem is that when i put the switch to L and then put the car into reverse the mirror starts to move but it doesn't know when to stop also it goes all the way to the top sometimes out as well then i can set the mirror to the position i want for to see the kerb but then when i drive off the mirror just stays down all the time and doesn't move.it makes me think that either the door controller is not working correct for this function or well thats all i can think it is.
can anyone shed some light on this???

here are my 2 door controllers
