Do you need an intake with stage 2+ (hpfp and dp)?

I have read conflicting reports, some say yes definitely needed, other say not needed but down a few hp.

I have a bmc high flow filter in the standard airbox and wondering if that is enough?

I want to keep noise down to a min if possible. I undertand that apr in usa is developing a newer version of the carbonio for the fsi, similar to that for the tsi, sounds good.

The gt2871r turbo kit costs about $6,000 with all the peripherals. k04 upgrade or Pirelli with stage2+ is quite monstrous.. will run a low 12.

In terms of usable performance for the road.. k03 stage2+ is more than plenty in my opinion.
Only 200 to go from stage 1 to stage 2? btw what is HPFP?

They recommend an intake, but not 100% compulsary. I find it more for the suction noise and engine bay appeal.

          Stock > Stage 1 = 1500ish
          Stage 1 > Stage 2 = 200ish
          Stage 2 > Stage 2+ = 200ish
(note: this is for software only.. not including hardware peripherals required to go to the next stage - Down pipe, diverter valve, intake etc..)

HPFP = High Pressure Fuel Pump.
