Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I am another Jetta person keen to see pics.
Jason here in Sydney has done a non OEM and now a more OEM looking install on his Golf TDI, which might interest some of you. I just need to add a link.
I like the location to be as OEM looking as possible, like the Golf R or Skoda LED locations, virtually integrated into the bumper.
For the Jetta, I'd love to see a LED install where the chrome strip sits at the top of the fog grille.
Most ideally, as the top strip of this R line fog grille. I like the polished look mask, too. Very much an R Line Jetta front!
Maybe something slim like this TechArt LED (slim LED bit, into top of the R line part):
This mockup pic looks horrible but note where the LED is on this Holden Cruze sketch. Good LED location at the top of the fog grille!
Bizi's Jetta TDI: Blue Graphite w. factory leather & tint, plus + Enkei Racing NT03+M + Yokohama S Drive 18s, Koni FSD, Neuspeed coils, GTI RSB + brakes, InPro mirrors, VW navi, Modshack. Come for a drive through the twisties on Saturdaze.
Check out Winedriving forum/news for driving trips and wine tips.

I've been looking for an OEM quality replacement for the Mk 6 GTI headlights with LED DRLs and the closest thing I've found is this:
They don't look bad to me and I'd consider installing these - but there's no guarantee they'll work for right hand drive....
Anyone aware of whether they will work in Australian Golf VIs?
Installation instructions I found in this Youtube video, it's in German but more than clear enough to learn how to do it.
YouTube - LED-Tagfahrlicht am Golf 6
The lights aren't cheap but still, I paid a few hundred for my LED tails.
The only other decent looking alternative are these: Golf 6 S5 look headlights
TM Tuning states they don't work for right hand drive cars on their Youtube page.
What do you guys reckon of the Dectane headlights?2011 Audi A5 Sportback 2.0TFSI S-Tronic Quattro | Deep Sea Blue | 18" Audi exclusive 10 spoke | Bang & Olufsen | MMI Plus Nav | Advanced Parking & Reverse Cam | Sunroof | Sports Suspension | Xenons | Walnut Inlays || Previously: MkVI GTI | Carbon Steel Grey | DSG | ACC | Dynaudio | Reverse Cam | "R" LED Tail Lights | APR Stage 1

its a pretty complicated job mate and requires taking off the front bumper etc to fit nicely... otherwise you can do hack jobs by removing grills... but wont look as nice..
i've fitted quite a few of these for forum members up in sydney... not an easy task and a pain in the ass to wire up
if you are not mechnically or DIY inclined... dont attempt it.

I found these units on TM Tuning and like the simplicity and the quality (as far as I can see).
Has anyone had any experience in fitting something like this to a MK5 Golf/Jetta?
Easy Job? or expert fitter only?
Any other options for DRLs that I have missed?

The ones from dectane actually are a whole headlight cluster replacement so they're a little more straightforward, but still need the bumper removed. Just need reassurance they will work in our right hand drive cars. Know anyone in Melbourne that would install them?2011 Audi A5 Sportback 2.0TFSI S-Tronic Quattro | Deep Sea Blue | 18" Audi exclusive 10 spoke | Bang & Olufsen | MMI Plus Nav | Advanced Parking & Reverse Cam | Sunroof | Sports Suspension | Xenons | Walnut Inlays || Previously: MkVI GTI | Carbon Steel Grey | DSG | ACC | Dynaudio | Reverse Cam | "R" LED Tail Lights | APR Stage 1

I fitted some DRL's into the side bumper grills and fitted them myself only had the auto electrician connect them,
Actually he connected them to the live ignition wire in the R/H headlight a very easy connection and come on only with the ignition , so now i know how easy it was .
You can see them on what did you do to your mark V today.
