Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        by my dealer.
I can feel a long wait coming on.

        Neil,

Wife ordered a Jetta TDI a month ago and was told three month wait. Now I don't know if this will put us in the last of the 2007 model or the first of the 2008's.

I have seen on a us site a posting from Jan 2007(http://www.dieselforum.org/newsarticle/article/718/1/) that indicates that US prod will not start till Jan 2008 for del in May 2008. (I know the US cars are different and that plans would change all the time.)

Did the response say anything about the Bluetech diesels that are in the wings for the 2008 Jettas? I would hate to wait 3 months buy and then find out we should have waited a little longer for the latest and greatest.

          Red jet hi.

Just check with your dealer to see if they have allocated a MY08 model
for you,These started manufacturing on the 1st July 2007,and will take
between 3-4 months to deliver,Better options on the MY08 than MY07.
I placed a deposit for a MY07 but then changed to MY08 after doing a little
research on this site re the changes to the MY08 model. search this site
          for the MY08 changes.
My dealer did not have a problem with me changing and you should not
find any different in price as they have just released the current pricing and
          no change for the Jetta.

I believe one of our moderators mentioned the blue-tech diesel and I think
said we may not see it until 2009 in aus. Might be better to do a search
under blue-tech and see what comes up.

          Neil.
