I just like the OEM forms.
It's what sets it apart and adds some interesting shapes where it is otherwise a white blob.
A base model Kia is colour coded, it doesn't mean (nor achieve) what it used to.

Awful stuff to paint over too, and it will have the crap chipped out of it in no time unless it is very well done.

Colour coding never seriously crossed my mind when I had a white GT - I added GTI sideskirts in OEM texture and was chasing the vwr lip, which would have been left black too. Contrast works with black and white - ask Porsche, Lamborghini etc.

My pirelli came painted, but it's all a bit same-ish.

OMG... not going into the details but rain + rubbish roads + pothole = rim rooted, tyre rooted, front end damage etc. etc. Will give you full report later and when I am not so frustrated maybe photos.

Council is getting a very unhappy visitor today.

        Poor petal
Same thing happened to me, 3 week old black rim buckled and bent, steering all out of whack and bent... Good luck at the council - i didn't get very far with mine though.

Black rims are the best though I just love them!
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

IMO - The black textured lip, skirts and lower rear are subtle cues that define a GTI - especially on a Candy White model.
          This!
The previous GTI's had the black textured plastic's and it keeps the theme.

I like the VW centrecaps and now you can't see them.

LoL planning on adding the GTI side skirts to my GT and not doing a colour code. I find it suits the semi-colour code of the rear GTI bar and would blend in alot better.

On the full black, I'm really not a fan of it, even though my car is pretty much all black. (I've only found a handful of rims that can pull it off). You have to really find the right wheels to do it in.

btw. sorry to hear about the damage antone.
