Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Nah sorry WASTED, it wasn't the ipod connector. I found a 3.5mm aux in jack in the armrest compartment that I've plugged my, funnily enough, ipod into.

Hello everyone, first time poster here. Now has anybody noticed how the wipers always comes to rest on a different side of the blade to where it started? I think that it is extremely unoticed clever thinking.

                Where does one start;

Gretel (for that is her name) is a TR MK5 GTI.

Compared to her previous iterations (00 MK4 1.6 and 03 Mk4 2.0)... well there is no comparison.

As nice as those two wee beasties were, and they were very, very nice, Gretel is an absolute bombshell.

She is SA built, so was my previous 2.0, but she is a whole world of difference in build quality.

Yes, she has her build foibles, but so did the Wolfsburg 1.6

She is a delight to drive and returns a very decent fuel economy without an aweful lot of effort on my part

                Looks, to die for.

                Engine, sheer delight.

                Steering, Superb.

                tracks like a slot car.

Interior, a delight to sit in.

I can tell you now that Gretel will be the first car that I've owned that I will have trouble parting with.... Never thought I'd say that about a car.
                Ian

It's the small inconspicuous things that amaze me on these cars! This is done so there is less wear on one side of the blade when the wipers is resting.

                          LOL Cheers bro

I cant argue with those additional comments either. The R32 is the bomb and my God - what other car sounds that good off the factory floor

They are both good choices.. If you combined them both you'd have something good like the R20 or S3.

I have been telling everyone this (wipers) when they ask about my car. Love the attention to detail and refinement

schoona any idea where in Sydney he got the mods done? I know it is a single turbo system and the guy is looking to go twin potentially. I'm looking at going twin turbo around June 2010 but need to find a good installer i can trust. No one in Adelaide that i am aware of can to the install with confidence.

Looking to implement the same HPA system also due to its reliability. HPA have never had a major technical problem arising from their forced induction kits.
