If anyone is looking at the A8 reps, be warned - I've had mine for only 9 months and the dreaded white worm is effecting them. Looks like the laquer is not up to standard.
i'll be going for a visti in a few weeks to sort out a replacement set.
Anyone else had this problem?

we've got a set of A8 replicas on our new beetle.. but we got them from bob jane. have not had any trouble with them as yet.

not anymore apparently... we chased around for weeks locally as i didn't wanna buy from Tempe.. (heard only bad things from people i spoke with)

spotted a set in a catalog at bobjane and got the guy to ring round. turns out they showed none in stock in Oz. Rang the manufacturer and nope they dont make them anymore. he told me i had no hope of getting them.. then he rings me the next day and says that he rang the warehouse and they had a set sitting there. someone had returned them and they had not put them into the stock listing as they were going to be returned to the manufacturer.

Couldn't believe it.. was thinking "yep.. be just my luck they wont fit.. wont be the right ones etc etc"
but surprise they turned up for me to look at.. got them fitted with no hassles.. no rings needed for centralising of wheel on hub (multifit stud pattern) and they could even get me the VW logo centrecaps.

Forget what they were called... RS8 i think.. but no longer made.

Jax quick fit tyres in melb also has them in a catalog and even in the window but manufacturer no longer makes that wheel (sorted peed me off when i was looking around for them as it wasted my time etc)

I should have been more specific, I was referring to the 18x8 R32 replica wheels that Tempe sell. I was wondering if anyone had a set and how well they fit.

easier to compare the offset of the new wheel with the offset of the old. there are calculators on the web for it. also consider the width of the tyre as it may also protrude out wider than the wheel and it is often the tyre choice that can make it scrub on the guard or hit suspension components on the inside.

I'm looking for a set of 18" wheels for the GTI and came across some Audi replicas from Tempe Tyres.

They have A8 and RS4 replica rims at a reaonable price (although I would have to get something better than the Kumho or Nankang tyres they offer in the pakages)

Has anyone bought their replicas. I'm wondering what the quality is like?

Be wary of the reps that they sell, i am told they are made from scrap metal, i.e old tank parts.
You can always tell a bad wheel casting when you see how many wheel weights they use when fitting tyres.

ABI have the best reps in OZ hands down. The wheels are imported from Italy. I Have a 19*8 on my MkV. Great quality and very few weights. Talk to Rany there, he's a good guy and should be able to do you a deal. He will also freight anywhere in OZ. He freighted mine from Syd to Bris o/n. They arrived in perfect cond.
