    Something off topic:

I noticed I have a button that looks like "{!} set" button next to the ESP button. I believe this may be something to do with the tyre pressure, however I don't know how to use it and I can't find it anywhere in the manual. Anyone ever played around with it?
are you sure you read the manual properly? that is indeed that tire pressure monitoring button.

pump your tires up to preferred pressures, hold button until it beeps, and it sets it. if pressures drop, that tire icon will light up in your cluster.

To be honest, probably missed. Havn't really sat down to read the manual properly. I flicked through it looking for that sign but couldn't find it

One other thing which I asked in a different thread is what would the recommended tyre pressure be for just day to day driving? Mine's currently at 34 and I find my fuel consumption to bit higher than what others are saying they average.

      Thanks for the info tho

        ive got mine at 38PSI

check the label on the back of your fuel lid for correct pressures.

Ah so that's where it is, I was looking near the side of the driver door cause the previous car's one was written there.

These are my tyres at the moment:

It is 225/60 R18's, I'm thinking of going back to a set of 17's as it just looks too big on the car and too expensive to change. The previous owner apparently got the rims genuine from VW and had to import them from overseas as the original GTI rims didn't come in 18, but who knows.

I'm pretty sure they're not genuine, only way to tell is to take one off the car and check the markings on the back.

34 PSI is far too low, check the fuel lid as BigY pointed out.

As for the TPMS, make sure you read the manual and I have some info on it here and it's pros and cons (ie don't rely on it).

Yep checked it out after work today.

As for the 18's I will take them off in the next few weeks and have a look. I wanted to rotate the front to the back anyway

              Cheers.

Can anyone tell me why this 2006 model might have a Full Screen MFD:

                [edit]No that I want to buy it - I'm just curious![/edit]

This one seems to as well:

Any clues? This one says its has Sat Nav - is that the reason?

And another one - No Sat Nav mentioned here:
