Are you sure the car wasn't already mapped before you added a bluefin?

    Or a tuning box?

When you floor it do you blow plumes of smoke or is it clean?

I'm on the north shore (near Hornsby), PM and we'll see if there's a time I can take you for a run. It should be very different to drive. I also have vagcom
Hey Nuttr.. I havent had it scanned actully.

Pretty sure the car wasnt mapped before ? but Im starting to notice the modest improvement in the Bluefin more these days.

I do get smoke whenever I floor it .. is that bad?

Are you free during the week to have a meet up? Want to compare what a happy Bluefin tune should be like
Ill PM you in a bit

No it's not, and you will find out, if you keep the revs steady, the smoke will clear up and it will smoke much less.

I'm chiming in a bit a late, but I had a similar problem with my mkv gti, the first 2 maps superchips sent me did not make any difference at all but the 3rd map improved the performance a little bit. It's hard to say if it was my expectations which were too high or if my car didn't respond as it should to the tune. The Superchips staff were very helpful throughout the process but 2yrs later and I'm still not entirely sure if the tune made much difference...

Have you ever had the car datalogged? There should be a healthy increase on a GTI. If not, there's something not right. Blown diverter valves and leaking PCV systems lose boost and power. Easily seen with one run up the road and VCDS connected

I am not sure what that means, but at the time superchips had me send back some data which was collected from my car through the handset, they told me it was showing that the car had successfully flashed the map.

I dont think there is anything wrong with my car because it would of been picked up on by now, it has been for at least 3 services since it was tuned and each time they have scanned it for faults.

If you down in Sydney give me a PM and I'll log it for you as we are doing a bit of work for Superchips now. Something is certainly not right as the difference would be very noticable. We've seen some shockers on stock cars come in from the dealers with very obvious faults too even after being told by the owners there is a problem so don;t always believe everything they tell you some are just hopeless.
Whenever we go to modifiy a car we have to correct any outstanding issues before we can tune them and on yours it could be anything from a stuffed diverter valve as above to a faulty fuel pump/camshaft lobe issue (if its an earlier one), or even something really silly
