I would love to but I don't want a defamation charge knocking on my door.

    A) The steering wheel will not move but it's off centre.

I can say that I'll definitely be going somewhere to get it checked, and if it can be fixed, this place can be expecting the receipt for it.
If you go somewhere else to fix the problem, do not expect the original crowd to be liable for the cost.

It doesn't work that way in our legal system, and quite rightly too.

Go back to the original crowd once more, and politely ask them to straighten your steering wheel by adjusting the tie rods on each side by the equal amount till the steering wheel is dead horizontal when you are travelling dead ahead.

Politely inform them of your intention to go to consumer affairs if they don't fix their shoddy work. Then you go to consumer affairs and there will be heaps of correspondence, until finally in 6 months or so you they will be forced to fix it or pay for someone else to fix it.

Yep, and if they can't fix it take it to VW and send them the bill.

Midas ruined the brakes in our Transporter after changing the discs/pads, they couldn't get it right after 3 or 4 seperate days with the car so we took it to VW and sent them the $2000+ bill for entire new brake system (Master cylinder, some lines etc etc).
They covered it without an issue and were actually quite pleasant to deal with.
