Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

So have you tried it? I'm not sure what it actually does? haha

OT: In the MKV golfs is it possible to somehow add a second reverse light on the right hand side. It's too annoying when people say "your reverse light is out" and it is quite dark when reversing.

it is possible to code for two reverse lights, but you would still need to remove the red lens from the fog light.

not that im aware of, but it's one of the things i came across when i had the new gateway fitted.

there is an option that says "2 reverse lights fitted" and in effect turns the fog into a reverse light.

if you have the VCDS software, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

DeanCorp probably meant how to remove/make from red lens white one. Most likely you will have to buy a new tail light for left hand drive car. Otherwise selecting 2 reverse light option in VCDS is as easy as ticking the box in VCDS software.

Didn't someone like Polar do this about two months back. didn't seem overly hard from memory....just removed the red lens, and ended up with one a bit brighter but it worked fine!

polar didn't use VCDS. he just piggy backed a power line to the other side.

                    different solution, same result.

Hmm... that didnt work, IK chassis must be different.
I dont think there is even an Ind in cluster.

Is there anyone on here who can do the VCDS coding for 2 reverse lights for me? I would be grateful. A token of appreciation will be provided
