Yes, it's pretty easy to tell the difference visually between a Trendline and a Comfortline, regardless of engine spec. My question though, was directed towards the differences between the Comfortline specs of either engine.
It's pretty difficult to tell the difference if by chance a dealer had removed the badges, which means it may be tempting for a dodgy dealer to try and sell a 1.9 TDI as a 2.0 TDI.
Comfortline comes with alloy wheels, Trendline doesn't and i think that VW sign in the middle of the wheel is smaller on Trendline and speakers. Comfortline has 10 (three speakers each in drivers and passenger door) Trendline has 6 dealer cannot remove that
....between the Comfortlines yes, hence the reason I started this thread. I've already stated how easy and obvious it is to tell the differences between the Trendline and the Comfortline.
All I wanted to know was the difference between the two Comfortline specifications, not the Trendline.
This actually happened a couple of months ago.. There was a 1.9 TDI Comfortline Golf that a dealer in Ballarat was selling as a 2.0 (he swears it was a 2.0). I asked him to prove it to me as it was badged as a 1.9 (only the TDI badge) and he couldn't.
I got the VIN, did some research and found that it was in fact a 1.9. I went back to the dealer who didn't really seem to care.
I hope the person who brought that car did their homework otherwise they are in for a nasty supprise.
