Still looks hot. I'm tempted to go get em, but I'll wait till my SP Sport Maxx's are worn, only got 6000km on them so far haha.
Anyone got advice on where I should be researching on how to get the right 'tuck' and what exactly it is. I basically want my R32 suspension lowered about 15mm and the wheels to sit out a bit more just at the lip of the fender and for the tyres to have that 'tight wrapped' around the rim look. Any help?
I saw these on it today, looked mint. As for the 'machined lip', im not too sure what the genuine ones look like, but in my opinion the lip on these looked quite nice.

As for the 'tuck'... If you mean by getting the wheels to sit right out to the arches, but still underneath, I can tell you that these are pretty much spot on for that. Alex (geralis32) will have to let u know the width of the wheels, but whatever it is they sit perfectly just inside the arch.

Hey thanks for that - exactly what I was looking for. Did they provide you with that VW centre cap or did you have to get that seperatelly?
Do you have any issues with your car insurance now that you are running larger wheels? Thats the only other potential problem that I see.

I just contacted my insurance company ( Allianz ) about the increase in wheel size and they wont insure my car with those wheels. They have no issue with the increase to 19" but they claim that they go off a specifications sheet that says the maximum width allowed on a Golf is 7.5" so I can't even get the 18's because they're 8.0" wide. How do all you guys get away with such large wheels and getting insurance?

sounds like your insurance company is pulling your leg.

Volkswagen have a wheel called the Karthoums which is an official accessory option which is 18x8.

Correct sadly, at least for me too
Same when I had my MB
Alliance have an issue with wide wheels.

Changed to RACV since. No probs as long as it met Vic roads requirements, which it did.

Which has to have winglets installed on the car or the car is unroadworthy.

they dont do squat anyway. just little wings that dont go over the whole arch. the rear one is just pathetic waste of plastic, paint and money.

vicroads says its alright. you can go 1" wider than stock.

Vic roads told me that too, Alliance had their own in house rules sadly.

But vicroads will say that you have to make sure the wheel does not stick out past a certain point hence why the winglets are fitted, I'm sure VW wouldn't fit them if they didn't have to. They look like rubbish IMO and I wouldn't want the stupid little things stuck on my car.

This was a generalisation, nothing to do with the winglets issue.

They look ugly too, they should do you a favor and roll the guards inwards .

Damn! I'm with Allianz too but in Sydney and I'm about to get my set of 18X8.0", does that rule will apply here too?,

It doesn't make sense because we are able to get fitted 18's or 19's from the dealer like the Omanyt's,
