Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    LOL. It's a bitch, innit?
Just be thankful you don't have the original R32 Zolders

My Classix have 14 spokes and I often look longingly at those nice, simple Denvers or Huffs...

I'd be getting your freight calculated before you fall in love, even with the strong Au$, shipping on items this heavy is going to bump up the cost substantially.

If they are made in Asia, can you get them shipped direct? 1 less cost if the company you're buying them from is willing...

I contacted raderwerk about the shipping to Australia and they said it would be roughly $500-600US to get them here. So im probably looking at around 2000AUD to get them here i'd say

Thats an awful lot for shipping, about 150-200 more than most quotes I've gotten and heard...

Depends on where you get the quotes from and how heavy the rims are. Some places like tirerack get awesome deals from their freight companies obviously cos they do massive volume.
I have a fedex account but the rate im on with them is just ludicrous! I never really use it cos its so expensive. Last time i checked how much to ship a set of rims door to door from US to Aus it was around $1000!

Ouch, I've noticed that in some places as well, the rate obviously depends on how much business they get. I doubt irregular customers ever get anything less than a complete and utter screw over on the price...

I remember RayRay086, was quoted like 1400AU to air freight a MK3 'euro' rear hatch from Sydney to the states.

I'm gonna be the odd one out and say I like the middle ones G-220 M the best. More classy! They remind me more of the stock my06/07 R32 rims. Which I have no idea as to why they changed them! Don't like the new ones much. but agree they will be a bitch to clean. But not if you pay someone else to do it!

IMO, the G-220M on a GTI makes it such a R32 wanabe...

The G-FIVE M looks like those on the Pirelli, just only better
