well it was said all along that it was not tune brand related. it is possible that the extra power from the tune highlights a pre-existing condition with some cars being worse than others. so what did Guy fix in PirelliAC's car in the first place if the problem is still there in stock form??
its been a bit hit and miss so far.
The APR upgraded flash fixed all their cars that were having the other problem and they pinpointed the problem according to Guy

There are only so many Pirellis in the country Mav, and only so many that APR have worked on. I'm pretty sure its safe to say that this has some time to go with it...

the main problem is misfiring.
from what you have just said, it does look like a common problem.
i really hope they havent just deleted the CEL code like with the cat delete CEL.
it may take a lot more investigation to find out the real problem, which I don't think VWA will do, unless everybody with a Pirelli starts bringing their cars back to the dealers, or a private owner volunteers to have their motors ripped apart and investigated.
or I may be way off track...........
i hope everybody gets their cars running properly cos they are serious quick cars with mods. i was close to getting one, but turned it down due to the interior.

PirelliAC's car has a specific problem, very low compression in a cylinder 3 - verified independently & by VW.
What do you mean about deleting Cat CEL? are you implying that APR delete codes? - If you are you are way wrong (and obviously know nothing about tuning). What would be the point of deleting fault codes (or are you saying that GIAC do it for this problem?)
We have spent (here at APR Australia) almost 200 hours perfecting the Pirelli code - We know exactly what makes them misfire & exactly how to cure it (with our software).
I have many private messages & had phonecalls from people with other brands of software that have the issue.
If anyone has this issue & would like APR to have a look at it (and do before & after dyno's on APR & your other software) I will happily arrange it.
We have well more than 3 dozen very happy Pirelli GTI owners.

Wow sounded like you got your back up a little there.. Careful not to start slagging..
I think Big Yellow was referring to the cat efficiency code that APR Bluefin Revo and others delete that GIAC doesnt.
I was curious tho and maybe Ive misunderstood, so forgive me. If you knew exactly what caused the problem in this car why hasnt the issue been solved? Or is VW debating whether it is or not?
dropped car back into dealer today. They reset the DSG and made sure it was shifting where it mean to be. I have to drop the car back in next monday for more of what ever they do? With regards to my car having low compression in cylinder 3, i was told it was withing VW's normal allowance what ever that means. I just want my car fixed. I would be tempted to pay for a private technician to fix it, Maybe i should put it on a truck and send it up to you guy?

No Slagging & no deleted codes either. I suggest you do some research first
Re read the posts, that will help you not look so silly (regarding the Pirelli GTI thing) all the info is in there.
Yeah ok I'm 'so silly' and BY 'knows nothing at all'
So with the cat CEL code, how is it guys run 100 cell or no cat at all without throwing CEL's with APR software? I was under the impression that the euro 5 emmisions standard was pretty high..

It's pretty simple.
Flashed Pirelli's are having problems with misfiring.
APR identified the problem and fixed it and APR flashed Pirelli's are no longer having this problem.
This Pirelli has an engine problem to do with low compression and it has nothing to do with the car being flashed and is a seperate problem entirely.

Yeah I get that, what I dont get is that is if APR and an independent identified the problem as low compression why do VW claim its within their tolerances and AC say that VW dont know the problem at all..

VWs "tolerance" is probably pretty low.
Ive heard of a few MY09 S3s in the UK having exhaust valve problems.
In regards to the misfiring. A lot of the boys over there have had good success by using plugs 1 range colder or upgrading to an aftermarket downpipe. In most cases it seems to have fixed the problem.
Just curious to AC how did vw find out the car was flashed? Did you have the switching function? Did you return it to them in flashed or stock mode? 3k down is some nasty bad luck.. good luck getting it sorted.
VW didn't find out the car was flashed because when i took it there is wasn't, a previous dealer asked me whether it was flashed when it was flashed, which i admitted to so they replaced the computer and billed for it and said it wasn't covered under warranty. This time VW asked for tuning and mapping data which clearly showed that the car was un modified. I have
