yeh. the shape is slowly growing on me. but i think VW should have put some 'retro' classic styling back in the golf. but the did with the tartan seats as the mk1 GTi had the tartan seats .... but the GTi in this shape looks orite. but i agree bring back the good old box!

I hear that if you want a MK5 GTi the wait is now until next April!! Well at least that is the case in Tassie. Either in high demand or Volkswagen Australia just don't have it right again!
Much prefer the 3 door version but we dont get that either! Not sold on the look of it yet! It may grow on me, but at this stage the 5 door looks too much like a big family hatch! Performance figures look ok and obviously the turbo 2L is very tunable, but it does weigh 1400kg!Comment

My memory may be failing me (32 years since I lived there!) but in the Old Country a car the size of the Golf was considered a "family car" whether or not it had 3 doors! When I was a kid our first family car was an Austin A30. We then graduated to a Mini.Comment
