  • Aaarrrhhhhhh....... car park ding

My wife prsented me with this when I got home from work today......

She was shopping in Richmond today & parked the golf where she always does, sort of out of the way to try and minimise the risk of parking dents etc.

When she returned the car was on it's own, nothing parked near it damaged!!!!

And of course there was no note left on the car

It could have been a lot worse, it seems to be cosmetic & the car drives fine. Now i just have to sort out the repairs & it's leased as well.

Not happy...... oh hang on ...it could have been a lot worse.......

It could have been the CUPRA

Thats a sad sight, could have been worse. It amazes me at times how inconsiderate and selfish people can be to just drive off after something like that. All the best with the repairs.

That's a reasonably impressive bump to have popped out the headlight. At least the glass wasn't busted, that's when things start to get really expensive. Good luck with the repairs. Hopefully they're not that much of a hassle.

People are bastards, pure and simple. While I don't condone EVER driving off, thats not even a little love tap someone could have written off as "too small to bother".

Once again, Pulp Fiction has all the answers.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

2 weeks ago some ******* ran into the back of my R32 in the carpark at work. Cracked the rear hatch light (reverse light) and scratched the tailgate. Of course no note was left. had to replace the light ... Not cheap....

Someone has to say it - looks like it will buff right out.

On a serious note, it actually looks pretty isolated the damage, shame the panel was clipped or it would have been quite straight forward.

Unfortunately not in this car park

& you're right, it doesn't look that bad. my main concern will be the headlight. It didn't just pop out of it's mounts, all of the surrounding mounts are broken.

It's just so frustrating, If someone makes a mistake & puts their hand up & can understand. But whoever hit us intentionally made a decision to leave the scene knowing the dramas it was going to cause us, Thats what ****s me off!!

Fortunately she's the type of person that would say "Sorry babe, I just drove into a pillar/car/thingy at the car park, my fault" & I'd say "looks just like someone has driven into us! I wouldn't known if you hadn't told me"

                    She'd think to herself

It looks like the headlight should be able to screw back into place (minus the bottom screw). That is unless the threads have been torn apart which looks like a possibility..

Tough break buddy! Hope you get it lookin spick n spam asap!

This happened to one of my mates once, and he got so peed, he installed pressure sensors on the front and back of his car, so that any physical bump of any kind makes the horn go off. Idea is that if somebody hits the car, people around will take notice and hopefully witness the chicken sh*t that's blazin off into the sunset...

ooOOoo that sounds awesome!! Handy if it happens alot or you park it in a spot that's prone to bumps and humps.
