  • Can anyone help me get OEM numbers for the door lock actuators?

Auto electrician has said I need to replace door lock actuators on all four doors on my Golf GTI Mk5, 2006. The auto electrician seems to be charging an arm, a leg and my firstborn for the parts, so I wanted to get them myself but I’m struggling to find the OEM numbers for the correct parts. Can anyone help?

Its pretty involved, so not surprised that your electrician is charging good money to do it. Have a look at this DIY guide here: https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/i...?topic=52585.0

Failed door lock actuators are super common on the Mk5 Golf platform . If you are trying to replace them with genuine VW items they are about $450 each. But there are multiple aftermarket companies selling compatible door lock actuators for a much more reasonable price.

You can also find 2nd hand items at wreckers such as: https://www.parts4europeancars.com.a...3d2-837-016-j/

Here is a full set of door lock actuators from an aftermarket company: https://www.ausautostore.com/product...back-2003-2009

If you have a look on ebay you can find some at around $50 each if money is tight.

I looked at the diy option for repairing and I’m not confident enough (nor do I have the tools) for that, but the installation cost I was quoted was pretty reasonable. It’s just the parts that are eye watering (think north of $450 each). I’ll check out prices at your links and see if I can get a good alternative to the genuine parts. Thankyou!
