The only thing I would possibly do is "chip" it. One of those plug-in jobs so I could take it out before a service. But it's so grunty as stock I'm not sure I would do it at all.
I like the mags, although detested them when I first saw them in the brochure. They look better in real life, and even better on a black Jetta.

Sorry, I'm a bit boring. I have zero plans for bigger mods like bigger turbos, suspension upgrades etc. I love my Jetta just the way it is.

I'd be interested to hear how you go with regard to fuel consumption.
What did you chip it with? What are your engine outputs now?

Sorry to burst your bubble Tim, but forgive me if I am wrong.
But the Jetta is made in Mexico!

But still, the VW badge is one to be proud of!

I'll let you know how my economy goes after a few weeks. The output is claimed to be up to 125kw and 380nm. I got it Oettinger'd through Harding Performance at South Brisbane..

Really? I heard they were assembled in Mexico, shipped to China to add the finishing touches then shipped to Australia for delivery..

Mine has Mexico stamped on it.
I wonder if they use taco's for soundproofing road noise?

I'll take a bite and let you know! I'm feeling a little hungry now.

But mine also has Mexico stamped. A German that was born to a Mexican, the Jetta's mother (a Passat?) must've been the village bicycle

One of my first posts when I got the Jetta was about the road noise and my
conclusions are the Conti tyres, I actually asked the question "how do you tell if
your tyres are on the right way". I thought they had put them on the rims upside down.
Have been in another with bridgestone and found the car much quieter.
I believe I read yours has the conti's as well.

Definitely the Conti's are noisy! But they are great tyre IMHO.
I'm running Dunlop Sport 3000A's after replacing the Cont's at 48,000km and the GLW said 'it's running on sneakers!' because it is so much quieter.

                          Cheers,

                          Neil

Yes, I do have the Conti SportContact 2. Good tyres but yes, a little noisy.
I had Conti PremiumContact 2's on my Camry and they were quiet. I will certainly try another brand when this set is up for replacement.
                            I'm running 36psi in them.

I'm still looking for excuses to take it for a drive!
