It is good to see those numbers, I was impressed recently when I took mine for a run on the open road. Granted it was the flat inland from Tamworth to Coolah but pulled 5.1l/100k. I get in the low 6's for around town.

Wow 5.7 around town is great!! I normally average around 7.0-7.2 of only city driving.

I know it's early days yet, but I'm impressed so far!
We don't have any long trips planned in the near future, so we'll see how we go after another week.

It will take you a few weeks to re educate yourself how to drive a TDI with DSG if you want to get great fuel efficiency.
Low 5's are easy around town. Just remember to keep the MFD on the current fuel consumption figures and
watch how often the figure goes to 0.0 when you lift your foot off the pedal.
Learn to coast up to the lights without breaking and get off that pedal as soon as possible.

I have 40psi in tyres but most of my driving is on freeway. not sure I would like 40 around Grafton and that lovely Pacific HWY.

Actually have found with quarter of a tank of fuel compared to a full tank I can get the car down to 3.8L /100km , full tank only 4.0 this again is on the freeway and no aircon, Aircon seems to add close to 1L/100km

...and on the opposite end of that spectrum, thrash the crapola out of it and return about mid 7's all flippin day long.

The MFD fuel display in VW's is notoriously optimistic though, I just work off how many km's out of a tank, which is usually 850 for me. I've heard a Jetta does about 950 on average!

Wait till you get 1000km out of the tank before the fuel warning light comes on. Then you will be impressed.

Ok what the hell am I doing wrong then?? I get max 700-750 out of my tank and my average around town is 7ish!! I'm not going to say i'm a Grandma - but i'm not speed racer either!

Forgot to mention I get my fuel figures on the freeway late at night traveling at 95km/h
I don't consider myself a cardigan driver like out Passat brothers
But the fuel efficiency drive has become addictive.

I'm a lead foot (gotta keep the cobwebs out of the turbo ) and I'm getting 6.4L/100km according to the MFD - mostly suburban driving with a mix of peak hour stop/start and freeway cruising depending on the day of the week. Done just over 12 000km now.

Sexy looking Jetta, black is definitely the best Jetta colour. Friend's mum has a black one on 18" Charlestons

Filled up with a full tank of BP diesel, and a squirt of Morleys Diesel Engine Smoke Killer. MFD says 910km til next fillup WOW!

It is flipping bliss to drive!

I am also LOVING the DSG. It is jerkier that a normal auto, but you've got to remember it's really a computer controlled manual. It feels like a manual, but you don't have to do anything! Tiptronic mode is fantastic, but I leave it on D for 99% of the time for the optimal gear change points for economy.

Just wait until the car learns your driving habits, and you learn to drive it! That's when it truly becomes the perfect car... (I'm still learning after almost 6 months.)

Well the MFD has crept up to 6.3 and holding, so 7 is not far off...

Funny creatures women, if a light comes on, no chance they would find out what it is and if it is serious, no they just keep driving. Oil pressure light comes on.......no probs keep driving.......until it stops that is.

                              Cheers
