That last photo that comes from benough.com is listed as coming from an attack site on both my firewall, virus scanner and separately by google when you search that site benough.com it says "may be harmful to computer"
I would suggest not using it or un-linking that picture as simply clicking the link crashed my comp blue screen after the warnings flashed up from my software.

Serious, wow. Time for an upgrade?
Yeah I have been though all that with google and their scan says that there was potentially bad code 90 days ago but not anymore but it keeps coming up.
I can personally gaurantee you there is NO malware on the site. The image links fine to this page so I am not sure what your issue is.
The harness/kit/whatever gets the 55W power from the "headlight power" wires which plug into where your existing bulb plugs into.
The power then runs back to the ballast which hikes it up to like 20,000 volts or something, then it runs it back through to the HID bulb.
The seal goes through the plastic lid you screw on/off the back of the headlight, yes you have to drill a hole.
I mounted the ballast using a bracket on the underside of the headlamp. You may have noticed a rectangular-ish recessrf area? I made up a braket to screw it down. You can get the screws from the dealer v.cheap.
Maca's new headlights are not HID (unless im mistaken) they are a xenon Replica, that uses a H7 Halogen globe in a projector lens.
Jason.
Yeah mate they're only the reps of the OEM Xenons.. I didn't want to have to get the auto-levelling and washer system as well... Not to mention the massive price difference between these and the Xenon ones.
But thanks for the explanation Benough. You've actually made it alot clearer for me and I'll know what people are talking about in the future instead of me just nodding and pretending like I understand
of course, now that you have a projector housing, it's a fairly easy job to convert to aftermarket HID if you so desired.
from about $200 and a few hours labor. though it would have been easier to do while you had the bar off.....
just remember that if you are gonna convert, make sure you get a nice color.
you want something that's close to natural daylight (5000k).
most light output from HID is at about 4300K white with the yellower end of the spektrum, from there light output actually decreases.
6000k is white, heading towards the bluer spectrum.8000k is really blue, and practically useless.
Looks great with park lights but now my main lights loook yellower than this
yeah, i thought my old parkers were yellow against the narva Blue power globes i installed, so that was why i went looking for good leds.
now i have the same issue, the narva's now look very yellow by comparison.
oh well, guess i can wait till i get my xenons in a few months....
as these would probably be better suited. but double check what type the plate bulbs are. in most every car these will work fine. not 100% sure about the VW.

Found this for people who are interested in using LED's as park lights.
Sure it cancels out the "bulb out" warning but does it let the lights stay on? One problem Thor Ray and I had was that the LED bulbs would go out about 5 seconds of turning them on..
