last weekend, i fitted a set of LED park globes to the golf.
got them on ebay, from my usual LED supplier (warden_jp2002)
these are super bright, and very white. they will be a great match for those running HID headlight systems.
unlike most LED's these are non directional, as they have 17 (yes 17!) SMD type chips on each globe.
there are 16 that face around the sides of the "globe" and one that faces forward.
they didn't trigger the "bulb out" warning, as they draw enough current that they play well with the cars sensors.
they are not exactly cheap, at about $35 delivered for the pair, but the results are amazing.
here's a pic of one of the led's installed.....

and a short video of them in operation.
note that they do the flashy start up routine (the cold start test)
the cold start test can be disabled via VCDS if you don't like it.
