i used it this morning to blow the doors off a snobby bmw driver who wanted it cut in front of me at a lane merger traffic light intersection - up to the limit of course!!

Are you following the instructions as per the manual? Also in the manual are the conditions under which LC will operate.

If the brake isn't depressed enough LC will not operate.

If the gearbox isn't warm enough LC will not operate.

If the gearbox fluid is too hot LC will not operate.

And a heap of other obscure little ones designed to protect the gearbox.

And yes it's on the GTI.
