which one wins in the end? 1.4twin charged or 2.0 turbo diesel

which one is worth the money and what are the specs of them?

what one has more torque in the end.

i just need to no basic stuff

please let me know what you think.

    thanks

    TDI hands down.

makes heaps more torque and it pulls like a train, and in the end has better fuel economy

        Quick questions, quick answers:
        TSI is quicker 0-100km/h
        TDI has heaps more torque
TDI is quicker 80-120 and will be quicker with a car load of people than the TSI
They are both worth the money, depends on how much of it you have.
TSI has power across the whole rev range, TDI has power in a narrow range

You can also use the TDI to plow fields and deliver vegies to market

You can also use a TDI as the power source for a boat, or in a pinch, an armoured military vehicle.

The choice of the two really depends on what you're using it for.

Neither is really better than the other since each satisfy different needs. Besides the motor of course they are pretty much identical, as mentioned earlier the TDI has more torque but the TSI revs more freely.

They're different but really not dramatically better than each other in any significant way, although cogdoc and Polar666 would almost certainly think differently

Use the search function again and see what other people think about the cars and why they made their choices in their purchases, I'm certain that will answer at least some of your questions Gordo.

I haven't driven a TSI so my opinion's a little biased. But nothing in the driving world beats the pulling power of the turbo up a hill. But saying that - if I wasn't restricted by the P plate laws, I would have a TSI Jetta.

Drive both; it's the only way to decide for good.

                hmmm

                thanks for the info guys.

                its a tough call.

but i think the 2.0L tdi is better because of the torque.

would anybody know how many nm it has and hp?

                  TSI (with a DSG).
Zero lag, gobs of torque right off idle.
Runs clean. Revs smoooooth and pulls strong all the way up the range and goes ballistic from 4k.
Responds very well to tuning (check the APR tune out).
                  TSI is better value.

If you're keen on short shifting to keep it in the power band, then a diesel is for you.
TDI will produce more torque, but you'll be paying for that for a good 5 years before you match the price of a TSI.

As a side note, I've noticed my Pirelli drops a gear much more often than my GT TSI did to get up a hill. The TSI would just turn the supercharger back on and rip it up... or maybe it is just because the GTI exhaust is louder...

Now I'm irritated that I bothered to reply, because you won't make the effort to visit the VW site or search for that info...

Both the GT TSI and the GT Diesel have 125kw, the generic 2.0L diesel has 103 as you mentioned earlier.

If you're talking current models you'd be better off in the Mark 6 section. The 1.4TSI was only available in the Mk5 in GT versions, thus the comparison with the GT TDI - 125kW version.
