I just got my full skirts colour coded and roof painted black for $550 ($300 for skirts, $250 for roof) - see results here.

I didn't get the textured bits fully sanded back (they got lightly sanded) and IMO looks fine. The quote to get just the full skirts fully sanded back to perfectly smooth and painted was $500. So definitely don't pay $950. Also, this was all done in 3 days.

Certainly does because they will have to pull it apart, sand it back, paint a few coats including primer and clear (letting each coat dry before the next goes on), then let it all dry for quite a long time. Finally they buff the dried product and put it all back together.

              That's crap.

The price sounds fair to me. IIRC that's about what we paid, which was cheap at the time. But places in Sydney are doing it lots cheaper, including a smooth/gloss finish that matches the metal panels.

We had our GTI colour coded 2 1/2 years ago now and it still looks great.

I'm new to the forum and have just clocked up 5000Km in my DSG GTI (black with leather). I love the car although I would like to get the plastic bumpers , skirts and front splitter colour coded.

Any recommendations on who to see? I have called VW and they reckon they can refer me onto someone, but I'm worried I may not get the best deal...

Any help would be most appr.

                Cheers
As Poyta said, wouldn't be too picky for black colour. I got a quote last year less $600 for the rear, the shop is actually in your local area, good referees, yard fills all European cars, PM me if you like.

                  Hi JP2,

would you please be able to pass on the contact details for the shop in Sydney who quoted you $600 for the rear colour coding.

                  Best
