            I'm 28 and I have a TDI. Colin is like 27 and he has one. Mischa, 19, he has one also.

            GTI = wine

            TDI = scotch

                If you really wanna show your age through the car you drive; go buy a Maserati Quattroporte. That way we'll all think you're old

                      Hey!!!

                      Who let those young 'uns onto the over 50's thread.

                      I don't know what I should be driving judging by all this

                      GTI ? I'm female

                      TDI ? at any age it seems

                      Jettas ????? I need that boot for all the shopping

                      To the OP

                      Drive what you want to drive. The older you get the more you can do without caring what anyone thinks.

                          No it's because Insurance companies think that by getting older, you become a better driver!

                            Well, I'm almost 54 and I have an R32.

                            A mate is 58, and he has an R32, S5, and a Lamborghini. So I guess you're never too old.

                              I've found that the older you are, the more money you have. That equates to being able to afford a better car! All of my friends dad's have supercars and they'd all be in their late 50s.

                                Too true. When you are the sole breadwinner and have the typical family of wife & 2 kids and a mortgage, there's always something with a higher priority than an expensive car. In that position, it's insane to buy an expensive car when there are some really cheap excellent S/H cars available - especially right now.

                                But once the kids are gone and you have a few bucks set aside for retirement, a luxury car is totally deserved
