  • Well the deed is done..... I have the APR Stage 1 tune.......

Although only went with the 2 programs as speaking with Derek the extra tunes/features weren't for me really.... and now I have $200 spare for some new rims....

I'll make up another thread on the tune later as I'm busy doing other things... first impression is.... It is very constant power and still very smooth... there is no real surge of torque at any one moment (however 4th gear at around 3500 RPM really takes you back )

I found it differs alot down low and up high.. the mid range where it kicks from Supercharger to Turbo seems to be smooth aswell...

I've only taken it out for about 60min drive at the moment so the tune hasn't really hasn't kicked in yet...

I am worried that by your description it is so smooth and so constant that possibly nothing has changeD?

Does car feel like it has ~300nm ?
Does it feel like it is holding more boost in some gears/throttle positions?
Can you tell the difference vs stock map?
Does the throttle feel more sensitive or the same?

Does the throttle feel more sensitive or the same? Down low definitely.. But again haven't had it for long enough to compare

I'll prob. have something by sunday (2 exams in 2 days, and work = no time to )

        • Be very good to see a dyno sheet!

With 151kw@engine it should pull at least 120kw@wheels on 20% drivetrain loss and 125-130ish if you use a factor for a modern FWD of about 15-17%.

Lead the way for the rest of us to follow.

                    • This thread back from the dead!

                      How about 300 hp?
                      Or 500 hp?

                      Anyone? Modified Golf MK5 1.4 Tsi GT over 500Bhp????? - uk-mkivs

It's going to be an interesting finale - I've been watching this for ages...

It does seem, however that 300 hp is relatively easy and dare I say, common... it looks like the 1.4TSI is a pretty tough little unit.

                      • how much of a difference or worth it at all if you put a GTI turbo (or similar) on a 90TSI. would it be hard to do or would it make the engine too peaky? would love to do it for a laugh. but would like drivability still

                          Nice article!

Our bigger turbo will be ready next week, so will go in with the new gearbox. We know where our fuel system is at, next step is a set of rods which we are trying to get manufactured for us at the moment.
