I know!! I hate that coz I spend so much damn time stuck in traffic along Coro drive. I'm gonna have to talk to my dealer, and give some "suggestions" as to what it could be. Thatnks for your help guys!

What station do you listen to, I'll check it out on my Monday commute to see how it works with my stubbie.

Firstly - What's Stubbie? And I have that problem on all stations (other than Hot Tomato or Sea FM when i'm at the Gold Coast..

On my drive home i'm normally listening to B105 (Hamish and Andy). And I get a pretty poor signal. Although I as others have said, I had the same problem on Coronation Drive in my old Bora as well...

A shorter "stubby" aerial. I have one collecting dust!

                Poor radio reception

I also have a problem with radio reception - AM in particular. I am sure I am not in a "bad" area for radio reception as all my previous cars have had no problems at all.

I have the RCD300 head unit and one of those "whip" aerials. Anyone had an success with improving reception with a different type of aerial ie after market?

It's commonly listened to by old people who like to listen to other old people ranting on about young hoons/welfare cheats/immigrants and listening to the golden oldies from the 20's. Frequent weather announcements keep the listeners tuned in for long periods (that and they can't get out of bed to change the station).

AM is like a Gramophone (in fact they were around at the same time).
FM is like a CD player.

thinking about it im not sure why my radio has poor reception. with the standard roof mounting there is an awesome ground plain for the antenna.

i wonder if its not grounded properly.

So my car was at the mech last Friday getting a few parts changed. While it was there I asked them to take another look but unfortunately for me it gets crystal clear reception on the Gold Coast (Sea FM 90.9).. But while in Brisbane, it's crackly and gets louder and softer on its own (with Gala disactive). The only radio station where it's barely noticeable is Nova 106.9.. But that's only when it wants to.

They've told me that they couldn't find a fault code with the radio.. Would they find a fault code if it were a signal problem and not an actual fault with the unit? Also i'm getting mighty sick of it.. What can I do to solve this problem once and for all? My parent's car doesn't have a problem, nor did my old Bora.

AM also has a lot of international radio stations... Mind you, don't be near a neon sign or else there's no point!
