I dont mind dripping. It only stains if you don't wash it off in time.

I have on a couple of times accidently pulled it out and kept the flow going and its gone all over the place.

Back to the actual topic of this thread - the things I dont like -

      1. Reverse and 1st gear is in the same bloody spot with no warning if its in reverse or first. All you need to do is accidentally press down a little to much on the gear lever and oops its in reverse. Had a few incidents where I went in the wrong direction.

      2. There should be an indentation on the roof section to allow your fingers to grab the windscreen visors without actually touching the roof. My nice light grey roof lining is stained from all the gruby passenger fingers that go to grab the visors.

      3. If you car stalls you can't just twist the key and restart - you need to turn the ignition off and then start again. Try doing that in hurry when you've stalled in the middle of an intersection with a semi-trailer coming right at you.

      4. Squeaky F%&king brakes. Apparently the dealer tells me its normal. Yeah right, I've owned so many cars before and none have sqeaked as much as this car.

      5. The inaccurate speedo. 10km difference at 100kmh?

Apart from that she's perfect and I love her.

The speedo is inaccurate for a reason and this can be adjusted.

New Jetta beeps as it goes into reverse - thoughtful, thanks VW.

Agree. This is a PIA. Thankfully, we don't stall too much these days!

My gripe, today I noticed vibration in the roof console. Seems to be around the sunglasses holder. Best turn up that radio!

Only beeps if you have sensors.. To let you know they're activated.

Crappy lumber support -should have gotten the leather as these are also an upgrade to more like the GTI seats I am now told

DSG won't go into drive from neutral unless your foot is on the brake

Keep cleaning the windscreen at intersections, overtaking... (other cars are normal )

The tyres wore out so fast

What do you guys do? My knob is firmly attached but then I'm not in the habit of pulling it.

It's a twist left and right action and you push it in the direction you want the mirror to go. Am I missing a function of this switch??

Mine just broke one day after the extreme heat >40....maybe that had something to do with?! It was replaced under warranty when I got the 1st service done.

With the switch, if you have the rear demister on and you gently (!) push the knob in, the outside mirrors will heat up and clear any frost off them! Heating elements are fitted to the glass and are contolled by a timer relay.
I have had no joy at repairing the knobs when they break off.

On my R32 you turn the knob to 12.00 o/clock for mirror heaters.

anyone noticed their headlight switch moves in and out when its in the auto position and makes a clicky noise?

works fine and the foglight pull out part works too. just weird.
