Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks Mav and all. Looks like few people here are using on but it would seem it will work so my confidence is up.

    Thanks.

      My dearest Kryten,
I have a nice speedhut boost gauge on a modified HKS stand, sitting on the small "shelf" in front of the taco. It hides below 1000rpm, but I don't find that a big deal. I wanted an electronic version, that went beyond 30psi ( diesel / future mods in mind ). I do also like the OSIR vent mount, but decided this was a bit more stealth, until you're actually in the car, it's all quite unobvious. My centre three gauges are just cheapie "Swoosh" ones from Asia, but they work just fine, and have some nice features, match the dash lights nicely too. Instructions were rather woeful, but I worked them out. The actual fascia they sit in came from Venom in the UK, cost a bomb, but it angles the three towards the driver, and was worth the hassle. Obviously this messes up your stock radio, but I had designs on an upgrade anyway, and must say the new head unit alone on the stock speakers gave an amazing improvement. All the details are in the first few pages of my tinker thread.

Searching is always difficult when spelling variations occur:
          e.g. "scanguage" vs "scangauge".

No wonder he didn't get any results!

Actually no I don't and I don't even have a bowls hat or anything on the parcel tray either

I love my grandpa dashmat, not only does it stop the dash from cracking it also saves a lot of hassle with dust. I just run the vac over it every now and then, it's so much easier than having to wipe it with armor all to protect it from sun damage. I also use a sun shield in the windscreen on hot days too, and surprisingly it keeps the car pretty cool.

I don't think Maverick was trying to be insulting Greg, he just likes the effect of cracks in the dashboard.
