I've been washing this one a lot more frequently than I did the silver Golf.

Maybe it's still the 'new car' factor or it could be that it looks so much worse when dirty.

I have decided to take better care of this car. Last one was 4 years old before gave it some polish

The BG *does* look bad when it's dirty doesn't it! I think you're shaming me into getting mine cleaned (so thank you )

I have a blue graphite GTI! Except im in Brisbane!

Here the more common colours i have found are red and white, hardly any in blue graphite!

          Might be the temperature factor.
A dark car is going to be hot, hot, hot in Queensland.
Even in Sydney, I wouldn't have dark outside and dark inside.
My husband has a dark grey Subaru with dark leather and his seats get a lot hotter than mine.
Light interior also gives the illusion of more space.

Aside from the obvious dirt problem mentioned above, my wife wouldn't let me get the Latte leather because with that lighter colour you can see the honeycomb pattern on the speaker grills and it reminds her of bees. Bees are bad because bees are insects. And insects are bad.

The grey interior hides the honeycomb and that is acceptable.

HAHA good point, but i couldn't resist latte leather. We have a 4wd as our second car though so the Jetta is kept for 'clean' driving occasions

It definitely gives the impression of more space in the cabin though, even when i get in my old mans passat with black leather i think i have as much ro0m in my Jetta...and yes it definitely looks like Bee's over the speaker grilles.

Wow - I thought no one would know what I was talking about!

At least its not as bad as the Alfa 147 (one of my other possible choices) since the face of that looks like a fly

It doesn't get much hotter than in Melbourne, but the BG is not a problem with the heat. Due mainly to the tint, I think.

The Latte interior also gives you a light roof lining, so it does seem far more spacious and airy.

Just as well your grille is black, or you'd have to remove that as well

                    Yes, I'm tinted too.

I had a look at the speakers today and found the beehives.

I think I can live with them. I don't mind the insects, it's the huntsman spiders that occasionally get inside that bother me.

Seen some scary things go on around your car, namely removalists trucks loading and general sill u-turning.

You live or work near there?

I live there. Yes, I do worry about it being out in the street. It is a busy street with lots of parking etc and apparently removalist trucks and sill u-turning. I try and park it a bit further where it seems a bit quieter. That worked well until a crew put up barricades and started pulling pipework up around it.

Unfortunately there are no garages for rent near by.
