Hey just out interest, if you shipped wheels, how did you package them?

I shipped a set of wheels recently and basically just wrapped them individually. I put some strong cardboard over the faces over the rims and used packaging tape to hold it in place, I then wrapped them in some plastic wrap and addressed them. A courier picked them up from home, said the packaging was good and took them for delivery. Easy as.

Thanks Russ - which courier did you use? I'll get a couple of quotes and see who seems reasonable...

Mate it was done through Pack and Send, their nearest depot to me was about 80 k's away so they use a courier who services my area to do pick ups and deliveries for them. I paid $110 to ship a set of 4 wheels and tyres from Nowra NSW South Coast to an outer suburb of Canberra. I thought it was reasonable when they picked them up from home and they were delivered very quickly as well.

It would be cheaper if those wheels were lighter mate.

Bald tyres would probably drop them just under 20kg each, that can be arranged!

So the stock 17" GTI rim is 22kg each!!?? Is that includes the Tyre?

If not, that is super sumo weight!!!

That sure will become my motivation to get light weight O.Z. rims!!!

~20.4kg for the stock GTI wheels with CSC2 tyres.

Since I cant sell my rs6 reps.. I am tossing the idea of powdercoating them…

Just asking what you guys feel about WHITE wheels on my BLACK mkv….
Safest option would be matt black/satin/bronze…. But I thought of trying something different…
                            Green/orange/gold/silver… but I hardly seen white…
                            I just cant imagine myself…

Just getting advise… see how many hates and likes…
(ps:my front grill red strip is changed to white strip already)

                            Cheers

Would look **** hot but I would be getting it PPF wrapped to make it easier to clean the break dust off etc.
Either that or use some rim selant and clean them every week or 2.

I need to get some 17" wheels and tyres for my new mkV GTI. Can anyone recommend either: a supplier (in Melbourne northern suburbs), or a particular model or brand of wheel (or one to avoid!).

Or does anyone want to sell theirs?

                                Thanks.

My question is why you want to get some 17" wheels for your GTi and why people are trying to sell you their GTi wheels? Doesn't your GTi have Gti wheels already? Do you not like the standard Denver GTi wheels perhaps?
I've still got my stock BBS Classix from my GT in storage. They're 17" but the tyres are pretty worn so you'll need to get new rubber. You're welcome to buy them if you like. Photo below

They look pretty hot when painted black too .
