Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Where going a Comfortline there's been too much hassle trying to sort out the leasing payout on the Sportline we were looking at. Won't go into detail on that, looking seriously at a 6/07 Comfortline 2.0 TDI 6 Speed manual with 16,000 k's.

When we were looking 2 years ago a second hand manual 2.0 TDi in the Sportline spec was virtually impossible to find. (Plenty of 2.0 petrol Sportlines, the only diesel around at the time was a fully specced up, high mileage DSG). Looked around for about 3 months for a manual diesel Sportline but finally gave up and went with the the Comfortline.
Nearly 40000 kms later all going well. No issues of note, touch wood. Some minor update carried out on the stereo as a warranty campaign, done during a routine service.

The Sportline was a fantastic looking car from the photos and apparently quite rare in a manual diesel, I probably would have purchased it if it hadn't been for the leasing agreement that's on it and the uncertainty of the process to pay it out.

Yes very rare in the manual diesel, though we were only looking in Sydney. Recall that there might have been a few interstate but didn't need (?want) one badly enough to go thru all the hassle of buying interstate.

There will soon be 2 MK V Golfs in the driveway instead of 1. I Bought a 2007 Comfortline 2.0 TDI 6 Speed manual 16,800 k's Silver in colour from a dealer in Victoria today (with my son's money). It will hopefully be arriving by car carrier next week. I love spending money, especially someone elses !!
