I'm sure you've heard and seen this before... but can anyone suggest a 'good' way to drop my Jetta about an inch and a quarter? Springs? Coil-Overs? Reset of springs????

I don't care what anyone says, don't get reset springs. It has to be almost as dodgy as cutting them. Yet somehow legal, muchl like retreads...

Anyway, why do you want to lower it?

I have 18's on mine and want to do them justice by just bringing the body down a little.

Can you fit GTI springs?

Surely there'd be a factory VW lowered spring option somewhere in the world.

If you can't get OEM springs from say, an R32 or something, then I would go with a new set of springs. Provided your spring rates don't jump too much, your standard shocks should be fine so there's no need to fork out for those .

Is yours tdi or fsi? If so just get the TSI springs, they are a little lower.

Jetta TFSI/TSI has a 15mm drop standard.

I believe that when you order OEM 18s, part of the outrageous price is GTI suspension (coils, dampers and bars). They may actually be the GTs for all I know - whatever, it ends up at the same ride height as a GTI/GT.

But either way, an inch and a bit lower than that would look great - I see where you're going...

i believe something like "votex" springs may help you also...

although that would be from oempl.us i am thinking.
