I'm sure you've heard and seen this before... but can anyone suggest a 'good' way to drop my Jetta about an inch and a quarter? Springs? Coil-Overs? Reset of springs????

If you can't get OEM springs from say, an R32 or something, then I would go with a new set of springs. Provided your spring rates don't jump too much, your standard shocks should be fine so there's no need to fork out for those

I believe that when you order OEM 18s, part of the outrageous price is GTI suspension (coils, dampers and bars). They may actually be the GTs for all I know - whatever, it ends up at the same ride height as a GTI/GT.
But either way, an inch and a bit lower than that would look great - I see where you're going...
