Just a quick note on the Pirelli GTI (Edition 30 engines)
We have now seen 3 cars suffer coilpack failures (out of 12 we have seen) - talking to two service personnel today, it appears the Pirelli suffers from weak coilpacks (even in standard form) - starts off with flickering check engine light & when the misfire counter gets to a certain level, the light stays on.
Good thing is it throws a distinct fault code & its easily recognised by the VW dealers. All the 3 cars we have seen had new ones fitted under warranty & have not played up since!
Amazing to hear how many Pirelli owners are jumping straight in with a reflash.
Not even giving themselves the time to get sick of the (masses of) stock power
The Caddy is Barloworlds little pet project car for our Service Department headed by our Service Manager Kozi.
The software it is running is from from a reputable company that we have had a longstanding association with and has been previously used by Kozi when he raced his GTI back when he was in Sydney.
It is a 1.9TDI Caddy with DSG.
Other Mods include:
DSG Flappy Paddle Steering Wheel (GTI/R32 Spec)
18inch Rims
GTI Suspension (This was supplied to us by one of our customers - I have seen his GTI and it is awesome)
All the parts used in this upgrade has been sourced from Volkswagens OEM parts bin. The reason for this is we are trying to represent how OEM parts can be mixed and matched between other VAG cars.
The Pirelli GTI is still stock and not chipped at all just to clarify.
