Hmmm...Jmac is probably the world's best person you could send your car to, even on a Saturday, but I don't know about him being VW dealer approved or whatever.

I'm a bit nervous because there have been som many adverse reports about the two of them.

I doubt if the Ipswich or Gold or Sunshine coast ones are open weeks, check their websites to see.
The Highway Auto experience has been good for me, most of the complaints I see are about Austral and the same at the GTG's where Austral is the one being complained out (and too often IMO on the area of warranty cancellation). I had major problems with Austral as well when I purchasing and wasted 3 months after they wanted over $5000 extra after I had traded. Ended up going to Highway who sorted me out a car and at a very good price. Still ended up losing $5000+ thanks to Austral's behavior.
Sunshine Coast VW (Gary Crick) do scheduled servicing on Saturday mornings.
They will not do work involving repairs etc. only scheduled services.
They do good work but are a bit expensive ..... like all VW dealers.
JMAC will do the same for much less. Even stamp your book. He is a VW Master tech. with many years experience at VW, Audi and Porsche. He works on Saturdays but need to be booked well in advance as he is VERY busy.
